Unless you’re doing something kinda sketchy, your risk of malware infection is slim. Still, a few hundred thousand infected machines out of the millions of Macs running throughout the world is a small percentage. Built-in tools like XProtect and Gatekeeper will keep just about everything nefarious off your machine…but “just about everything” is not “everything.” At this moment, there are hundreds of thousands of infected Macs out there, and malware written to target the Mac is on the rise. ![]() So…if this were put to a vote, I think you’d have your answer (ditch the antivirus entirely)!
